If you find yourself wandering the vibrant streets of Harlem, a culinary gem awaits you at Polanco, a delightful eatery located at 2421 Adam Clayton Powell Jr Blvd. With a reputation that precedes it, Polanco serves as a hub for flavorful Dominican and Puerto Rican cuisine, crafting a unique culinary experience that resonates with both locals and visitors alike.

From the moment you step inside this modest yet welcoming space, you're greeted by the tantalizing aromas of freshly prepared dishes. The ambiance is quaint, featuring just three tables that create a cozy, neighborhood feel. It's easy to see why patrons have dubbed it the home of the best cubano sandwich in the city. Vincent Honan aptly encapsulated this sentiment, declaring it “one of the best Cubans I’ve had in a while.”

The menu is a treasure trove for anyone looking to indulge in traditional Dominican and Puerto Rican fare, with highlights such as tres golpes, a beloved breakfast choice that Fern Blossom raves about, praising the early bird advantage of securing these delightful offerings. With a range of dishes, from savory sandwiches to hearty soups like their renowned chicken noodle, Polanco has mastered the art of comfort food.

The magic of Polanco lies not just in its flavorful dishes but also in its ability to cater to events, pleasing a diverse crowd. Cassandra Curbelo's experience reflects this perfectly, noting that the food catered her party to great acclaim, ensuring both Latino and non-Latino guests left with satisfied palates.

Moreover, the commitment to affordability does not go unnoticed. Lilieshaw Park highlights the generous portions and reasonable prices, making it an ideal choice for those looking to enjoy good food without breaking the bank. Patrons like Tristan Noel appreciate not just the food but the warm atmosphere and kind service that makes every visit feel like coming home.

However, the popularity of Polanco means that some patience is required due to the often-busy environment. It's a small price to pay for a dining experience that promises satisfaction. Whether you're indulging in a meal or picking up catering for a gathering, the food consistently shines with vibrant flavors and fresh ingredients.

For anyone seeking a taste of Dominican and Puerto Rican culture through food, Polanco is an inviting destination that delivers. Make sure to visit early, especially if you're in the mood for their famed tres golpes or the satisfying cubano sandwich. Just like a hometown favorite, Polanco welcomes you with open arms and plates full of delicious dishes that leave you wanting more.

The food here is delicious! I used them today to cater a party and EVERYONE loved the food. There were a lot of Latinos and the party, but also plenty of people who weren't. They were all super happy and so was I. They also didn't overcharge me which I really appreciated since the budget mattered to me. I HIGHLY recommend!!

Very small (just three tables), very local (puerto-rican) and very affordable place. At least, the best cubano sandwich for 6 in the city. Huge, loaded with meat and one sandwich just enough to feed 2 people. Also, chicken noodles soup is very good - thick, delicious and extremely flavorful. Lines are expected and you might have wait a little from the time to give order to pay and receive the food. Also, little knowledge of Spanish is helpful. Cards is 10 min and the place is closed for business at Sundays.
